Rare Royal White Bengal Tiger

Turns 1 Year Old!

Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah, Washington, is proud to announce that Almos, our Royal White Bengal Tiger, is celebrating his 1st Birthday on Saturday, May 3rd.

Almos has received National News Coverage. He has also been featured in countless print articles, and is a majestic ambassador for Tigers in the wild.

Bengal Tigers are the second largest cat in the World, reaching up to 550 pounds. They are found in parts of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Burma. The Bengal Tiger is the only subspecies of tiger that has naturally occurring color variations as the result of recessive genes.

Almos shares Phase I of the Zoo's World Class Tiger Facility with Taj, a Golden Bengal Tiger Cub. Almos will be celebrating his birthday with his Bengal Buddy by sharing a unique birthday cake and presents at the 1:00pm Tiger Lecture on Saturday, May 3rd.
